You might think this woman's got to be crazy; she's swimming with killer whales! Apart from its benefit in a dramatic title the term 'killer whales' serves little purpose in this documentary, the more commonly used 'orca' taking its place throughout.
Books have covers and titles but we are taught never to rely on them as a judgement of real substance, and so it is here. Instead of addressing the orca's carnal nature as the title would suggest the Natural World team enlist the services of Dr Ingrid Visser, a noted orca expert from New Zealand, to highlight the orca's increasing fight for survival. Perhaps 'The Orca that swim in Killer Waters' would have been more apposite.
Meet Ingrid Visser
There's no getting away from Visser's courage in going where no man or woman has hardly dared to go before, as her unprecedented time swimming amongst orca has allowed her to provide footage and answers that are revelational to say the least. Above all the sheer energy and enthusiasm of the woman have to be admired.
